NeuroAsessment mobile app (iOS, Android) Last updated: 20 August 2026

NeuroAsessment is a biofeedback app: it reads Focus and Calm metrics from a Muse EEG headband and uses them to drive Philips Hue lighting and generative audio in real time.

The essential point: your EEG data is processed entirely on your device and is never transmitted anywhere. The app shows no ads, does not track you across services, requires no account, and builds no user profile.

EEG and session data

Focus and Calm metrics, along with the individual band powers (delta, theta, alpha, beta, gamma), travel from the Muse headband over Bluetooth directly into the app. They are used to compute the lamp's colour and brightness and to synthesise audio — all of it locally, in device memory.

This data is not written to files, not uploaded to any server, and not shared with third parties. It is not retained after a session ends.

What leaves your device

Purpose What is sent Recipient Basis and retention
Crash diagnostics Technical error report: exception type, stack trace, app and OS version, device model. No IP address or user identifier is attached Sentry (Functional Software, Inc.) Legitimate interest — app stability. Retained up to 90 days
Philips Hue bridge discovery A request with no payload to discovery.meethue.com; the service sees only the network address the request comes from Signify (Philips Hue) Performed at your request. Not stored by the app
Lamp control Colour, brightness and temperature commands Your Philips Hue bridge on the local network Never leaves your home network
Yandex Alice link (optional) Hue bridge IP, bridge access token, lamp identifiers NeuroAsessment server Only after you explicitly connect it. Deleted when you unlink

The Alice link is off by default. Until you connect it, none of the values in that row are sent.

What is stored on your device

The app's local storage holds connection settings only: the Hue bridge address, the token the bridge issued, the selected lamp, and — if you connected Alice — an access token. These values do not leave the device, except in the case described in the table above.

The “Forget” button in the Devices tab erases them immediately. Uninstalling the app also removes all local storage.

Permissions

Permission Why
Bluetooth Connecting to the Muse headband
Local network Finding the Philips Hue bridge and controlling lamps

The app does not request access to location, contacts, photos, microphone or calendar.

Children

The app is not directed at children under 13 and does not knowingly collect information from them.

Your rights

Because the app creates no account and stores no personal profile, we hold no data by which you could be identified. You may erase local settings at any time with the “Forget” button, unlink Alice, and uninstall the app — doing so ends all processing.

If you wish to request deletion of crash reports associated with your device, contact us. You will need to provide an approximate date and app version, as the reports are anonymised.

Changes

If we make material changes we will update the date at the top of this document. The current version is always available at this address.
